COVID-19
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact the Filipinx/a/o community, our friends, and allies. While we are no longer in the acute stage of the pandemic, we believe it is still important to uplift resources and safety measures surrounding COVID-19 to support the chronically ill, immuno-suppressed, and people with disabilities in our community.
COVID-19 Resource Directory
The needs of the Filipinx/a/o community have shifted as the stages of the COVID-19 pandemic shifted. While many of our community members may no longer require emergency food and basic supplies, we continue to offer a directory of resources to support the current needs.
To recommend other resources for the directory, please email us at contact@afirechicago.org.
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) rolled out a vaccine initiative for people who have a difficult time leaving home. Building upon the program’s success, CDPH has since launched the Healthy Chicago Equity Zones initiative that works with trusted community partners to deploy hyper-local strategies to confront the social and environmental factors that contribute to health and racial inequity—with the ultimate goal of closing Chicago’s racial life expectancy gap.
